GEMPAK
A Note about GEMPAK
Classroom and lab computers, as well as wxsession, no longer automatically load the GEMPAK environment due to it conflicting with other software. You will need to run the command wxgempak to initialize GEMPAK in the Linux terminal.
If the wxgempak command can’t be found, there might be a problem running the shell startup scripts with meteorology specific configurations. You can source the GEMPAK startup scripts directly if wxgempak is not working for you.
- Bash: source /wx/apps/gempak/NAWIPS/Gemenviron-wxapps.profile
- Csh/Tcsh: source /wx/apps/gempak/NAWIPS/Gemenviron-wxapps
This change does not affect GEMPAK program launchers in the Applications menu. For additional help contact your professor or the weather systems administrator.
