1. HW # 1:

Go to the "Wx Links" page via Blackboard, then go to the link for "Current GOES Wx Satellite Imagery--NASA Marshall Space Flight Center" and download three different types of satellite imagery of your hometown area.  You should obtain the following:

(1) A 1 km (zoom factor high) visible image.
(2) An IR image (regional view--zoom factor medium).
(3) A water vapor image (large-scale view--zoom factor low or no zoom).

Label the location of your town or city on each image.

Staple  and turn in on date specified in "Course Calendar."
 

2. HW # 2:

Invert the Planck Function.  That is, start with the Planck Function as given in the notes, and solve it for temperature. Hint:  ln ex = x
